This shuttle was the first one produced and was used in glide tests for stability.  It was named after the Star Trek ship, Enterprise!  It also was used to test the wing surfaces to try and figure out why the shuttle broke apart after being hit by a piece of foam when launched from the cape in 2003.  Various sections were cut off the leading edges of the wings and will be replaced after the investigation is finished.
