Package from Will Harrigan |
I received a package from the mail man and he wondered what it was. I was confused as I said I didn't know anyone from New Jersey. What is in the package.
I found out it had to do with me being on the cover of Life Magazine when I was six years old in 1946, in a one room school near the town in northern Illinois, Pecatonica.
Here I am on the cover and also on my 80th birthday trip in 2020 in Dubai, Oman, India and Sri Lanka!

Guiness Book of Records Perhaps |
My neighbor Trish came over to help take photos of me opening the package from Will around nine p.m. Saturday evening. Later, around 11 p.m. she phoned me and said maybe it was a record, signing a Life Magazine after 78 years! I agreed.
I called Will Sunday evening and he agreed, he might contact Guiness and see if it was actually a record. We also talked about my first pen pal, Frans Slot Tot Everlo, who saw my photo on Life Magazine in Amsterdam and wrote to me in 1946. We have been pen pals for 78 years.
They both might be records but having a pen pal for almost 80 years is a long time and must be one special record. Time will tell!
