Notes on Harmon/Brantner family by Barbara Buntjer as of June 15, 2004:

Grandmother Vernie Brantner (Harmon):

The Brantner family first lived in Iowa and probably were farmers.  Grandmother Vernie Brantner had several sisters and one brother, Charles, that I know of.  He lived in Minnesota and was an auctioneer and was called 'Chuck' Brantner.

Grandmother Brantner was married and had two daughters by her first husband (who committed suicide) and whose name is currently unknown.  The daughters were fairly young when Grandmother Vernie met and married William Harmon.

Brantner family reunions were held every year for a time, but other than meeting the sisters and brother of the grandparents, little else is known as their life wasn't talked about as far as I know.

Grandfather William Harmon:

The Harmon family came from Pennsylvania and farmed near Polo Illinois until the depression in 1929.  The family was rarely talked about their family so little is known unless someone has more information to send me to fill out this narrative.

  • Barbara Lee Buntjer, Born on January 13, 1940, Forreston, Ogle, Illinois, USA.  Note:  The following information was sent to me by Terry W. Rains, living in Deltona, Florida as of June, 20, 2004.  Barbara Buntjer was married to Ward Senn at one time and I married one of his daughters, Sheila Senn, and we had a son, Christopher Rains.  I cannot find a record of Ward Senn's wife, mother of Sheila Senn, as it had to be of a previous marriage of Wards because Barbara would have only been 12 years old when Sheila Senn was born.  Ward was from Polo, Illinois.  I would like this information for my family tree so my son may know who his grandmother was on that side of the family.  "Terry Rains"<trains@cfl.rr.com> or mail to: Charles@Buntjer.com so I may update this information.
