John
Buntjer, Jr.
of Lanark, who
farmed in this area, died Saturday evening in University Hospital Iowa
City, Iowa, where he had been a patient for six weeks. He was born
June 24, 1901, in Forreston, son of John and Reina (Buss) Buntjer. He
married Lillian Martz Aug. 23, 1921, in Freeport. Surviving are his widow;
two sons, Lyndon and Leland of Sterling; two daughters, Mrs. Wilbur
(Betty) Reinders of Rock Falls and Mrs. Earl (Margie) Shafer of Lanark; 15
grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Also, three brothers, Arthur
of Milledgeville, Benny of Rock Falls and Marvin of Forreston; and three
sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Agiou, Mrs. Faye Copoulos and Mrs. Reina Siemens,
all of Freeport. He was preceded by his parents and a brother.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Frank Funeral Home at
Lanark. Mr. Anton Wolken of the Savanna Jehovah's Witnesses will be in
charge of the service. Burial will be in Lanark Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight.
