These meetings help to determine how websites and other information may be forematted and processed and sent to various Federal, State and Local Governments to fight online hacking and other types of online problems.
I am currently working on two other research projects. Both are year long studies and one is for controlling cholesterol (I give myself an injection every two weeks), and the other is using a Fitbit, iPad and an electronic scales to lose or maintain weight.
Overview of the Aspen Tech Policy Hub
The Aspen Tech Policy Hub is a West Coast policy incubator, training a new generation of tech policy entrepreneurs. We take tech experts, teach them the policy process through an in-residence fellowship program in the Bay Area, and encourage them to develop outside-the-box solutions to society’s problems. We model ourselves after tech incubators like Y Combinator, but train new policy thinkers and focus the impact of their ideas.

Designing Forms - Chuck and Trish
After a two hour class on discussing problems and how to solve them when working with the internet, we spent an hour working on an online form to detail the problems encountered and what was done to try and rectify the problem(s).
My neighbor Trish and I gave much needed input to the design of the online form. I worked for Blue Cross of California for six years as a computer business analyst and spent many hours with the users, determining what they needed as far as user friendly forms for the customers to fill out and how the layouts were formatted for easy input to the computer systems.
Trish gave input from a user's standpoint of seniors who hasn't worked in the tech industry and have a minium of knowledge of the workings of computing.
I believe we both gave valuable insights to how to revamp the online form and how people without knowledge of various aspects of using the form could have valuable information as to how to capture and edit and paste information into the website form!
This three hour meeting was productive and the Aspen Tech staff were user friendly. We enjoyed working with the Aspen Tech staff and hope to meet someday with them again as to the progress of their Internet Safety for Seniors program is progressing!
