Start date of project is October 04th, 2018 at 09:00 a.m.

An LDL Study at San Francisco General Hospital where 2 out of 3 people will be injected with the actual medication to lower cholesterol . The third person will receive a placibo for an extended length of time.

  • Fast for 12 hours or more.
  • Blood draw of 14 vials.
  • First of three ultra-sound tests on my right arm. One Hour.
  • Second ultra-sound test. One Hour.
  • Third ultra-sound test with an Amyl Nitrite pill under the tongue. One Hour.
  • Three or more blood pressure tests for each ultra-sound procedure.
  • Finally the pen shaped injection of the LDL medication that I injected into my stomach area.

Setup next appointment for review toward the end of October for the review of self injection and then given several 'pens' to take with me on my trip to Switzerland and the Rhine Cruise in Germany to continue the testing.

Testing and injections will be monitored for a year!

2019.03.13: Blood Draw / Ultra Sound / EKG / Drug Renewal

My appointment was at nine a.m. and I was as usual, a list of questions to answer and all of them had a resonding NO! What drugs do you use, Pot or any other? Do you have fevers, upset stomach, pain, or mental anguish? On and on and the answers are NO! They said I am no fun!

Then I had 14 vials of blood taken for testing.

Next an EKG to test my heart.

Last an Ultra Sound on my right upper arm, and my blood pressure was 126 over 71!

Then I signed for a check from UCSF, $20.00. That one is mailed for some reason. I also got $25 for the blood draw and another $20 for the EKG. So a total of $65.00 for under three hours plus all these tests on my blood pressure and heart. What isn't there to like?

I also picked up syringes with the medication for cholestrol I inject in my stomach every two weeks! I will go back on April 29th for my next set of medicine.

Another appointment in six months for the total review of my statistics.

2019.05.01: Injection during trip to Scotland

I will be going to Scotland May 1st for two weeks and then take a weeks cruise on the Queen Mary II from Southampton to New York City, ending up on May 25th. Here is a letter from my research doctor letting TSA know that I am on a research project and can bring a syringe onto the plane!
