Blood Pressure Readings for 2024
He said if the readings over a few months looked good, perhaps I didn't need to take a pill for controlling blood pressure. The less medications one needs to take is better for ones health.
He is sending me a blood pressure monitor to use to determine the numbers.
It has been over a month and no blood pressure monitor from the VA so I decided to go to Walgreen and buy one and add it to my yearly costs along with my prescriptions.
OMRON:
It was about $70.00 and more costly than the Walgreen product but felt I should invest in one a little more rebust.
Note: I took the OMRON monitor to the VA when I had a blood draw. I went to Phyllis, the nurse for my primary doctor and had her take my blood pressure readings on the monitor that has the upper arm wrap, suppose to be better than the one you put on your wrist. That one costs around $300 to $400 dollars, the wrist cuff, $70.00. The readings on the VA monitor was 131 over 80. My monitor was 130 over 79 so very close! Good to know and my readings will determine my needs for any medication, if any!

Note: I began my weight total around February 2024 at 243 pounds. As of April 1, my Kilo weight was 104.9 Kilos or 231.3 pounds. Currently my scales is weighing using Kilograms. The conversion is 1 Kilo = 2.205 Pounds. My original weight was 243 pounds. We shall see how I do weight wise over the year.
Note:
I started to keep statistics on my exercise routine on February 01, 2024. I hope to do around 5,000 steps or more a day if possible. That is about 2.3 miles. I need to do at least 8.000 steps a day to get to 4.25 miles. As you can see by the statistics for February, I have only averaged about 5,000 a steps a day.
